The Ford Motor Company Saarlouis Body and Assembly plant is located in the western part of the city of Saarlouis within the Saarland state of Germany. The plant was built on a former airfield and opened its doors in 1968 as a manufacturer of body panels for Renault vehicles.
The Saarlouis Body and Assembly plant became a Ford manufacturing facility in 1970 where it oversaw the assembly of the Ford Escort. The plant currently manufacturers the European-market Ford Focus.
