To demonstrate Ford Motor Company’s love for the arts, the automaker recently unveiled three colorful murals nationwide in major US cities, as part of a campaign called “By Design.”
These murals occupy building faces in Detroit, San Francisco, and Venice Beach, Los Angeles, reports Detroit’s Metro Times. Ford Motor Co. kicked off the unveiling of these murals in that third location with a special event featuring music producer Alchemist, singer-songwriter Jhené Aiko, director-designer DJ Va$htie Kola, and others.
These murals build upon the “By Design” campaign for print, television, and digital which launched little more than a month ago. Those ads are centered around the Fiesta, Focus, Fusion, and Mustang models, whose sales growth has far outpaced the rest of the industry, says Ford Motor Company. But critically, while each “By Design” ad might feature just one model, the intended, combined effect of these ads is to tie all four products together under a common tagline, and promote Ford’s car range as a whole.
For those based around the Detroit area, that city’s “By Design” mural – designed by Washington, D.C. artist Naturel – can be found at the corner of Gratiot Ave. and Brush St.
