The tuning wizards over at Roush Performance have just released a new cold-air intake kit for current-generation Ford Focus RS and Focus ST models – a product which “improves the performance, sound, and under-hood appearance” of both hot hatches, says the company.
Roush’s new cold-air intake is priced at $379.99 on the company’s website. For that, you get a reusable, high-flow mesh air filter, a three-inch induction tube, a nylon filter box, and a synthetic rubber strip to seal the box against the hood, preventing hot, under-hood air from leaking into the intake. You also get a silicone coupler and a clamp, providing an airtight seal with the turbocharger inlet.

Roush Performance hasn’t commented on what sort of performance gains should be expected from the new cold-air intake, on either the Focus RS or the ST, but the reduced intake restriction should help the engine breathe a bit easier at higher RPMs. Installation should take an hour or less, and the whole system carries Roush’s standard 90-day limited warranty.
