Four brand-new Ford F-150 pickup trucks were stolen from the parking lot of an automotive aftermarket company in Dearborn, Michigan Tuesday night, local ABC affiliate WXYZ reports. Dearborn police recovered one of the trucks in Detroit, but they say that there is a possibility the thefts were an inside job.
According to WXYZ, the Ford F-150 pickups were stolen from the area of Greenfield Rd. and Rotunda Dr. in Dearborn – the very city that Ford Motor Company originates from. The trucks were painted various different colors from the factory, and none had yet been titled or plated when the thefts occurred. Whether or not the trucks are examples of the refreshed 2018 Ford F-150 half-ton has not been specified.
Ford trucks seem to be a bit of a magnet for vehicle thieves. Older versions of the Ford F-Series Super Duty tend to be targeted especially frequently for grand theft auto due to the ease with which they can be accessed and started without a key, but back in late-2015, police in Livonia, Michigan arrested eight men for allegedly trying to take Ford F-150 pickup trucks from a secured lot.
