Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2022 Ford Mustang models over an issue with the front camera.
The defect: in affected vehicles, the camera is misaligned, resulting in the camera not functioning as intended.
The hazards: a front-facing camera that is not functioning properly may restrict or disable certain features including Pre-Collision Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping System, Driver Alert, and Auto High Beam Control, increasing the risk of a crash.
Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue.
Components:Â Image Processing Module A (IPMA) or forward-facing camera.
Affected vehicles: select 2022 Ford Mustang models produced at the Ford Flat Rock Assembly Plant between February 2nd, 2022 and February 18th, 2022.
Number of vehicles affected:Â 32
The fix: dealers will realign the front-facing camera, free of charge.
Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin on May 30th, 2022. The Ford reference number for this recall is 22S34.
