Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2022 Ford F-150 models due to an issue with the pickup’s parking lights.
The defect:Â in affected vehicles, the parking lights may flicker while the headlamps are activated. As a result, the vehicle fails to comply with requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 108, which refers to “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.”
The hazards: flickering parking lights may reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Ford is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to this condition.
Components:Â LED driver module
Affected vehicles:Â select 2022 Ford F-150 models produced between March 11th, 2022, and July 23rd, 2022.
Number of vehicles affected: 18,572
The fix: dealers will update the LED driver module software, free of charge to vehicle owners.
Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin January 14th, 2024. The Ford reference number for this recall is 23C36.
