2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E Recalled Over HV Battery Contactor Issue

Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E crossovers due to an issue with the high voltage battery contactor.

The defect: in affected vehicles, which are equipped with the extended range battery pack, the high voltage battery main contactors may overheat.

The hazards: an overheated high voltage battery contactor can result in a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue.

Components: high voltage battery contactor

Affected vehicles: select 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E models with the extended range battery pack produced between May 25th, 2022, and May 27th, 2022.

Number of affected vehicles: 239

The fix: dealers will replace the high voltage battery junction box, free of charge.

Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which begin on July 10th, 2025. The Ford reference number for this recall is 23S56.
