Ford Among Top 25 Best Selling European EV Brands Of H1 2025

As Ford continues to expand its all-electric vehicle lineup in Europe, sales of those particular types of models are also on the rise, as one might expect. The European EV market is certainly a crowded one at the moment, filled not only with legacy automaker offerings, but also, a slew coming from China as well. While Chinese EVs continue to make inroads in that market, Ford continues to post strong sales results of its own, and was among the top 25 best-selling EV brands in Europe through the first half of 2025.

According to new data from JATO Dynamics, Ford ranked 14th among all automotive brands with 35,239 new EV registrations across the first six months of the year, a 223 percent increase versus the first half of 2024. Despite that success, Ford only had one EV wind up in the top 25 best-sellers list this time around – the Explorer – which racked up 3,797 new registrations in June, good enough for 16th place. In June alone, Ford accumulated 8,222 new EV registrations in Europe, a 304 percent increase and good enough to land The Blue Oval in the 12th spot overall.

Volkswagen continued to lead the way in terms of European EV sales in H1 2025 by racking up 135,427 new registrations, a 78 percent increase, year-over-year. Tesla ranked second with 109,262 registrations, followed by BMW, Audi, Skoda, Renault, Kia, Mercedes, Volvo, and Hyundai rounding out the top 10. Overall, EV registrations totaled 1,193,397 in H1 2025, a 25 percent increase versus H1 2024.

Regardless of powertrain, Ford was the eighth best-selling automaker in Europe across the first half of 2025, racking up 257,337 registrations – six percent more than H1 2024. It fared fare better than the overall new vehicle market in Europe, as registrations dropping 4.4 percent in June to 1,250,868 units, while H1 sales declined by 0.3 percent to 6,844,426 units. Chinese auto brands nearly doubled their market share in Europe year-over-year in H1 2025, however, hitting a new all-time high of  5.1 percent amid a whopping 91 percent sales increase.

  1. You don’t get the EV credit anyway because the dealers and the IRS collude to screw you out of the credit.
