Ford Transit Courier Among UK’s Top 10 Best Selling Vans Of June 2025

The entire Ford Transit family has long been the commercial fleet operator’s vehicle of choice across Europe and the UK, which is a stark contrast to Americans and their love for pickups. In that part of the world, The Blue Oval offers a full lineup of utilitarian vans, including the Ford Transit Custom and Ford Transit, both of which remain stalwarts on the list of the best-selling light-commercial vehicles (LCVs) and vans in the UK, specifically. Now, they’re being joined by another member of that same family – the Ford Transit Courier -which just cracked the top 10.

According to new data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), the Ford Transit Courier wound up as the tenth best-selling light-commercial vehicle in the UK in June 2025, making its very first appearance on that list after racking up 902 registrations last month. That places it just behind the Ford Ranger, which wound up in ninth place this time around (though it’s third year-to-date), as well as the Transit Custom and Transit, which secured the first and second spots on the list.

As for the overall UK LCV market, it didn’t quite fare as well. In fact, sales for light commercial vehicles in that part of the world actually decreased by 12.1 percent to 156,048 units across the first half of the year, as June marked the seventh consecutive month of drops – this time, by 14.8 percent.

“Half a year of declining demand for new vans reflects a difficult economic climate and weak business confidence and the fact that this downturn comes just as industry invests heavily to expand its zero emission LCV offering is particularly concerning,” said SMMT Chief Executive Mike Hawes. “Decarbonization remains a shared ambition but with the EV market more than a third below this year’s target, bold measures are needed to drive demand. Accelerated CV infrastructure rollout, quicker grid connections and streamlined planning are now critical.”

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

  1. Ford’s North American strategy is perplexing.

The Transit Courier with a PHEV or HEV power train from the Escape would revolutionize the NA market for both commercial and passenger vans.

Ford has been caught flatfooted on PHEVs, and the over landing/custom modifications markets in NA.

It has a AWD PHEV power train in the Lincoln Corsair which will just sit on a shelf with the Corsair slated to be retired.

Build the Transit Courier in the NA market and make it as modifiable as the old Honda Element is.
