2005 Lincoln LS V8 Sport With 45K Miles Up For Auction

Though it was discontinued years ago, the Lincoln LS still holds a lot of intrigue given the fact that the luxury sedan sported a distinctly American badge and sporty performance, along with plenty of European influence stemming from the fact that it shared the DEW98 platform – and many other components – with the Jaguar S-Type and the Ford Thunderbird. Regardless, we don’t see a lot of lower-mile Lincoln LS sedans surface for sale these days, making this 2005 model a bit more notable.

This 2005 Lincoln LS is up for auction at Bring a Trailer with 45k miles on the clock, and lived most of its life – at least, until earlier this year – with the original owner. That person clearly took immaculate care of the vehicle, as its black paint has no flaws noted in the auction listing, and looks to be in great condition in the photos provided. The same is true of the sedan’s polished eight-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels as well, which are now wrapped with 235/50 BF Goodrich G-Froce Comp-2 A/S tires.

Inside the cabin, one will only find a few creases on the black leather power-adjustable front bucket seats, along with amenities that include a navigation system, THX audio, dual-zone automatic climate control, power adjustable pedals, cruise control, heated and cooled front seats, and heated rear seats.

Power comes from the naturally-aspirated 3.9L V8, which was factory-rated to produce 280 horsepower and 286 pound-feet of torque, flowing to the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission. It’s underpinned by an independent suspension with AdvanceTrac stability control, while four-wheel disc brakes slow it all down.

It’s been quite a while since we last saw a nice, low-mile Lincoln LS surface for sale at auction – late 2023, in fact, when we came across a 2002 model with 42k miles on the clock. It remains to be seen if collectors will eventually gravitate toward the LS, but Lincoln certainly doesn’t make anything like it anymore, if nothing else.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

  1. If I bought it, I would give the grill a new version of todays Lincolns grills, and update the dash with a more modern look.

  2. Owned a 2002 Lincoln LS, it was a great automobile. Traded it after 6 years of ownership with 80K miles(which was a record for how long I kept an auto). Always regretted not keeping it.

  3. I think Ford not developing this platform further for Lincoln marked the beginning of the end for Lincoln being a dominant luxury brand.

    1. I agree – they tried something different, then immediately retreated back to Town Cars and Navigators. Lincoln dealers had no idea what to do with the LS.

      1. And then the bottom fell out from there. Remember such “masterpieces” as the badge engineered Zephyr, MKX, and Mark LT?

        1. Yes, half-hearted, no-budget efforts at best. And don’t get me started on the MK nonsense!

  4. LS needs to return complete with V8. 2 and 4-door plus convertible all with the Lincoln look not being used anymore.
