Ford Motor Company is recalling select units of he 2025 model year Ford F-150, Ford Expedition, Ford Bronco, Ford Ranger, and Lincoln Navigator due to an issue regarding the vehicles’ power braking systems.
The defect: in affected vehicles, the Electronic Brake Booster (EBB) system may malfunction while the driver is using an Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS).
The hazards: an EBB malfunction can cause a loss of brake boost while driving, meaning the driver will be unable to use the power braking system. An unexpected loss of brake boost can increase the risk of a crash.
Ford is aware of 37 warranty claims related to this issue along with one low-speed crash. Ford is not aware of any injuries related to this concern.
Components: Electronic Brake Booster (EBB)
Number of vehicles affected: 26,582 2025 Ford Expedition units ; 217,969 Ford F-150 units; 7,104 Lincoln Navigator units; 20,552 Ford Ranger units; and 39,913 Ford Bronco units.
The fix: the EBB software will be updated over-the-air (OTA) by a dealer, free of charge to vehicle owners.
Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will be begin on August 25th, 2025. The Ford reference number for this recall is 25S77.

Braking system??? That isn’t important.
Over 80 recalls in a year..this is unacceptable,,,needs to be a big shake up in Ford Glasshouse..they keep saying they going to improve quaility and it get worse, A lot of these recalls is a customer lost for good…yr 25 models is very telling the lack of control and testing. Ford should be ashamed of all this mess
Buying parts from the cheapest supplier has got to be more costly than buying quality parts. Considering the cost of these recalls.
Over the air updates are no big deal but despite the considerable development time as compared to China these issues keep happening. Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to brag about the reliability of my ford in the same way as I can of two of the previous generations Toyota Venzas? I hate to say it but it’s just the truth, it’s a Toyota says it all😗
