Ford F-150 Raptor Pickups Also Being Used For ICE Recruitment

As Ford Authority reported yesterday, the Trump administration recently purchased two new Ford Mustang GT coupes for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which will be used as a way to entice people to join that agency. It’s far from the first time we’ve seen the government buy and utilize Blue Oval vehicles in various ways, whether that be for recruiting purposes such as this, or to transport and protect key figures. Now, the ICE fleet is also expanding with the addition of at least one Ford F-150 Raptor pickup, too.

According to the Independent, ICE purchased not only the two aforementioned Mustang models, but also, one or more Ford F-150 Raptor pickups and a GMC Yukon, spending a total of $700,000 on that effort. The vehicles have since been wrapped in a Department of Homeland Security/ICE livery, and have already been featured in videos posted by the agency’s social media pages.

To aid in these recruitment efforts, ICE is offering signing bonuses of up to $50,000, along with student loan forgiveness and various other perks. It plans to also run ads across a variety of streaming platforms, specifically targeting Gen Z, early-career professionals, former law enforcement officers, military veterans, and people who have worked in the legal field previously.

“This is a critical priority,” according to the agency. “ICE has an immediate need to begin recruitment efforts and requires specialized commercial advertising experience, established infrastructure, and qualified personnel to activate without delay.” The agency wants to “enhance” efforts to hire 14,000 new ICE agents “by serving as a bold, high-performance symbol of innovation, strength and modern federal service,” adding that the Mustang’s “eye-catching design increases public engagement at outreach events and helps attract top talent by conveying a culture of excellence and forward momentum.”
