Google Falls For 2026 Ford Excursion Rumors: AI Slop Report

Closely related to the Ford Super Duty, the Ford Excursion was a heavy-duty, three-row SUV and one of The Blue Oval’s riskier gambles. Its lifespan was short and the large SUV was ultimately killed off by rising fuel costs and poor fuel efficiency, discontinued once the 2005 model year was built out. There are no plans to revive it, either, regardless of what Google’s AI overview will have you believe if you punch in “2026 Ford Excursion.”

The 2026 Ford Excursion  is clearly another case of AI-generated nonsense being rounded up as undisputable fact. And just to be clear, the pictures we’re including here are from Ford Authority‘s own imagination – we rendered what it might look like if it were revived, just to satisfy our own curiosity.

“The 2026 Ford Excursion is rumored to be a revival of Ford’s full-size SUV,” reads the overview, before it goes on to say that “renderings suggest a modern take on the classic, potentially featuring a hybrid model and advanced technology.”

Sure, the Excursion is a cult favorite and is widely praised among Ford fans, but we’re not sure we’d consider a “classic.” The AI overview gives details about the completely made-up SUV, saying that it would borrow its underpinnings from the Super Duty – which would likely be true, if the Excursion actually existed – and would offer ample space, because of course it would. It also suggests that the model would get an off-road-focused trim like the Expedition Timberline or Tremor.

Supposedly, it would also offer an impressive towing capacity – no surprise considering it would be based on the Super Duty – while also offering “luxury touches” like retractable running boards, a full-width LED taillight bar for some reason, and chrome trim. The overview also suggests that pricing would start somewhere around the $70,000 mark for the entry level model, while more well-equipped trims would run as much as $90,000.

While some argue that the Excursion should be revived, we’re sorry to burst your bubble: the 2026 Ford Excursion is nothing more than AI-generated bull. So don’t get your hopes up. And while you’re at it, forget about other AI slop cars, including the 2026 Ford Thunderbird, the 2026 Ford Taurus, or the 2026 Lincoln Continental – all of which are complete and utter crap.

  • I DON'T CARE IF THE AD WAS AI OR NOT. I WILL BUY A NEW EXCURSION AND I CAN THINK OF HALF A DOZEN CLOSE FAMILY MEMBERS THAT WILL ALSO BUY AT LEAST ONE. MY IN LAWS MAY EVEN BUY TWO. THE EXPEDITION IS TOO WEAK WHEN IT COMES TO TOWING. I'M 6'7 ALONG WITH A DOZEN FAMILY MEMBERS AND MY KIDS WILL LIKELY BE JUST AS BIG. I WAS 6'0 WHILE STILL IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AND SAT IN THE THIRD ROW ON FAMILY OUTINGS IN TOWN AND ROAD TRIPS BECAUSE REALISTICALLY BABY/TODDLER CAR SEATS NEED THE SECOND ROW. LARGE SPACIOUS THIRD ROWS AND LARGE CARGO SPACE IS WORTH IT. FUEL MILAGE IS A NON-ISSUE WHEN YOU HAVE TO DRIVE A SUPER DUTY TRUCK AND AN EXPEDITION MAX TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE FITS AND THERES CARGO SPACE FOR THE BELONGINGS THAT NEED TO BE SECURED AND OUT OF THE ELEMENTS AND YOU ALSO NEED TO TOW A TRAILER TROUGH THE STEEP ROCKY MOUNTAINS.

  • Ford needs to quit wishing and dumping money on the EV market, and build what their customers want !
They would sell every one they could build , and would put a big dent in the GM Suburban market share . .
Instead of retooling Louisville assembly for EV's, tool it to build these as the parts to build could come right across town from Kentucky Truck Super Duty Plant!
