Ford has been rolling out more and more off-road-focused models in recent years, and for good reason – that’s precisely what shoppers are looking for these days, whether it be because they want to actually take those vehicles off-road, or just look like they’re outdoorsy types. However, the Lincoln brand hasn’t followed suit, largely because its shoppers aren’t quite as interested in such things, according to the automaker itself. On the flip side, perhaps Cadillac customers very well may be, as evidenced by the new Elevated Velocity Concept.
The Cadillac Elevated Velocity Concept just debuted at Monterey Car Week, one year after the unveiling of the Opulent Velocity Concept, and it’s essentially an SUV version of that model. Both are intended to preview the future of Cadillac EV styling and tech, and in the case of the Elevated Velocity Concept, it does so in a tall-riding package with sleek lines and a fastback-like rear roofline, flared wheel arches, and illuminated 24-inch wheels.
In this case, that bodywork is covered in Vapor Blue paint, which is contrasted sharply by a bright Morello Red Nappa leather interior revealed by gullwing doors. The concept features a 2+2 seating arrangement along with accents made from things like brushed metal, tinted acrylic, and glass. In the cargo area, there’s even a bespoke set of polo gear with its own fancy case containing a helmet, gloves, kneepads, and a mallet. The brand didn’t provide any details pertaining to the concept’s powertrain, however.
There are, as one would imagine, loads of other luxuries, including an Elevate autonomous drive mode that stashes away the pedals and steering wheel, after which it turns on infrared lighting, the cabin filtration system, lighting designed to help with breath work, and it even emits fragrances, effectively making the SUV a wellness spa on wheels, of sorts. Velocity mode is focused on performance, while Terra mode maximizes off-road performance, and Elements defy actually shakes the dust and dirt off the vehicle.
Cadillac won’t be putting the Elevated Velocity Concept into production as we see it here, perhaps unsurprisingly, but it very well could wind up influencing future models, regardless.

If it is an SUV or a crossover, I´m not interested. Not everybody like SUV´s or crosovers or is willing to buy one no matter what.
