The Ford Mustang is one of the most successful and longest-lasting automotive nameplates on earth, not to mention one of the most iconic. There are a lot of Mustangs out there on the roadways from each of the pony car’s generations these days as a result, driven by passionate owners in many cases. Sadly, however, the Ford Mustang also has a bit of a reputation for, well, being easy to crash, at least, for folks that make poor decisions or lack the skills necessary to drive one in a spirited manner. That was once again the case with this example that flipped after leaving a car show recently.
In a short clip posted to YouTube, we get a good view of this incident, which began as the Ford Mustang driver was leaving a car show in Hillsdale, Michigan. As is usually the case, there’s a crowd gathered by the roadway watching vehicles depart, which generally only encourages drivers to do silly things to show off. In this case, that’s exactly what happens, as the Mustang driver gives it some gas, which breaks the rear tires loose rather quickly.
From there, the pony car cuts hard to the right as the driver loses control, sending it careening sideways and nearly into a bystander. Thankfully, that doesn’t happen, but the Mustang continues to slide until it hits a curb and proceeds to flip over onto its roof before rolling back upright. It’s a nasty looking crash, but luckily, it doesn’t appear that the driver or anyone else was seriously injured, from what we can see.
Of course, this is just the latest Ford Mustang involved crash that’s hit the internet in recent months. In fact, it was just a couple of weeks ago that we saw another pony car driver lose control on Wyoming’s Beartooth Highway, flipping over and totaling their car in the process.
