RCMP 2008 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor Diecast Revealed

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) may not exclusively use horses for patrol anymore, but it does utilize horsepower. Canada’s police force has utilized quite a few Ford models throughout the years, and to commemorate The Blue Oval’s fleet of vehicles that have patrolled north of the border, Greenlight Collectibles has released a line of RCMP inspired diecasts. One such model is the 2008 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor.

Offered in 1:64 scale, the 2008 Ford Crown Victoria is described as “an iconic Canadian highway cruiser,” and it’s finished with a modern RCMP livery. It features a push bar, rooftop lights, and “unmistakable Crown Vic authority,” according to the toymaker. And it’s true – the blue and white livery is easily recognizable, featuring the RCMP insignia on the doors and all appropriate police markings.

The real-life Ford Crown Victoria enjoyed a long run as RCMP’s pursuit vehicle of choice, and was only recently retired from duty. The final operational Crown Vic from the Mounties’ stable was taken for its last ride in 2023, and according to the policeman that drove it, it was in fine mechanical condition even then – although it did have some issues with cooling while at idle, which ultimately did it in.

The 2008 Ford Crown Victoria model is just one of several in the new RCMP line from Greenlight, including several Blue Oval models. It joins the 1991 Ford Mustang, 1991 GMC Suburban, 2015 Ford Transit, 2024 Ford Police Interceptor Utility, and 2018 Dodge Charger in the collection. Each sports a RCMP inspired livery.

Buyers interested in the 2008 Ford Crown Victoria from Greenlight can preorder it directly from its website, or from authorized third-party retailers. It’s priced at just under $10, plus shipping.

It’s not the first time Greenlight has offered a collectible Ford Crown Vic. The company also released a South Park-inspired model, which is based on the 1999 Ford Crown Victoria owned by the character Mr. Mackey,
