Superformance – an aftermarket company well-known for creating licensed factory spec continuation models – couldn’t keep its hands off the Ford GT40 MKI. With a storied history, the modern continuation model is indistinguishable from the No. 6 GT40 that won the 1969 24 Hours of Le Mans. Now, Ford Authority reads have the change to become the lucky winner of a Superformance GT40, thanks to a new sweepstakes from the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix Association.
To sweeten the pot – and give our readers an even better shot at winning – we’ve got a way for you to get more tickets (see below for details).
This Superformance Ford GT40 MKI is completely street-legal – not to mention fully track ready, too. Superformance built the model exactly to spec, making it a perfect twin to the Le Mans-winning machine that Jacky Ickx and Jackie Oliver shared in 1969. Over two-thirds of the model’s parts are interchangeable with the original, including its monocoque chassis.
Under the hood, this Ford GT40 continuation model packs a Roush-built 427SR engine with Weber carburetion, good for 510 horsepower. That engine is mated to a Quaife ZFQ five-speed transmission, along with a Super Street Pro single-disc clutch. The race car features a blue and orange livery inspired by the real-life race car’s Gulf Oil sponsorship, complete with No. 6 decals. Inside, it gets a Moto-Lita steering wheel, Smith gauges, and Alcantara-covered seats with silver rivets.
Other notable appointments include an independent suspension, Bilstein coilover shock absorbers, and vented disc brakes with Wilwood calipers, along with heating and air conditioning.
Interested parties have until September 7th, 2025 to put their name in the hat. Inputting “2XWINAGT40MKI” will grant two-for-one tickets, doubling your chance of winning this stunning Ford GT40 MKI continuation model. The winner will be drawn on September 18th.
