Among the many cool vintage Blue Oval machines we see hit the auction block on a regular basis, there's the occasional car hauler, which is cool for a number of reasons. Aside from being nice collectible pieces, old car haulers are also often used by folks to transport or just show off their equally-special (or perhaps even more so) vintage vehicles that aren't quite that large. That's certainly the case with this very cool 1970 Ford F-600 car hauler, which is being auctioned off with a Porsche race car accompanying it.
This 1970 Ford F-600 car hauler is currently up for grabs at Bring a Trailer, and it's being sold along with a custom Porsche racer built using various components from a real-deal 1966 906 that was converted to Spyder form in 1970 and subsequently raced in some SCCA events by Vasek Polak. It was just completed in 2023, after which it placed second in its class at the La Jolla Concours d’Elegance and first at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering in 2024.
As for the 1970 Ford F-600 that comes with the Porsche racer, it has some ties to that model as well - it was used as a race support vehicle by Polak in the 1970s, and was later refurbished to its current state. It's finished in white with hand-painted BMW lettering and a large cargo box out back sporting Vasek Polak graphics. A hydraulic liftgate and ramps helps the loading and unloading process, too.
On top of all that, the box truck comes with a Snap-On toolbox, and it's powered by a 360 cubic-inc V8 mated to a four-speed manual transmission. There's a dually rear axle out back, along with 19.5-inch steel wheels, plus a simple interior with a black vinyl bench seat.
Now, this cool pair is reunited once again, and rightfully, the two vehicles are being sold as a single lot this time around - making for a pretty enticing offering for anyone that's into vintage racing.
