1995 Ford Thunderbird With Vintage Styling Heading To Auction

The Ford Thunderbird existed across multiple generations and decades, with the most recent model taking a page out of the first-generation's book as a two-seat convertible. These days, we see quite a lot of those last-generation T-Birds on the auction block, generally with low miles on the clock and in fantastic condition. Every once in a while, however, we come across a rebodied example of the earlier tenth-generation Ford Thunderbird model - created by an aftermarket company designed to look more like a '50s vintage Blue Oval model.

That's exactly what this 1995 Ford Thunderbird is, too - it's been treated to a full-blown conversion by a company called EasyRods, which blessed these particular models with vintage shoebox-style exterior panels. Now, it's set to be auctioned off at Mecum's upcoming Dallas/Fort Worth sale later this month, giving someone the chance to own a vehicle that's, well, truly unique, if nothing else.

Outside of the roofline and doors, it's pretty difficult to tell that this vehicle started life as a regular old 1995 Ford Thunderbird, but that's because EasyRods treated it to some truly extensive bodywork. Those modifications include chopping the top and adding a fiberglass hood, along with custom fenders, chrome bumpers, a chrome grille, a new rear section, and various bits and pieces that aim to make this more modern coupe look a lot older than it actually is.

This particular T-Bird rolls on some shiny multi-spoke wheels and is covered in silver paint, though the seller hasn't provided any photos of the interior or engine bay. We do know that it's equipped with the naturally-aspirated 4.6L V8, mated to an automatic transmission, with stopping power provided by disc brakes, at least.

Otherwise, it's been a while since we've seen one of these types of Ford Thunderbird conversions - it was over four years ago that a red example popped up for sale as well, in that case, with a meager $12,000 asking price.
