These days, we come across lots of Ford F-150 pickups at collector car auctions, and we aren't just talking about more vintage models from the '70s or even '80s - rather, that same model from the more modern era of the '90s and 2000s is also quickly gaining steam in that regard. The more curvaceous Ford F-150 of the latter portion of the '90s has become a favorite among those looking for a solid pickup with modern amenities as well - albeit, not too much tech, and that bodes well for this interesting 1997 model.
This 1997 Ford F-150 is up for auction at Cars and Bids with around 65k miles on the clock, leaving it in pretty nice shape. It's finished in Bright Red with the typical chips, dents, and blemishes marring the exterior, and the passenger side hub cover is missing, but otherwise, this pickup is in good condition. It's also equipped with a body kit that's rather period correct, though it's an aftermarket addition with fender flares and side steps.
Along with that body kit, this Ford F-150 has also been equipped with WeatherTech window rain guards, bed top rails, a tonneau cover, and a drop-in bedliner, too. Inside the cabin, one will find a clean interior with Medium Graphite cloth upholstery, plus amenities such as air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, mirrors, and locks, plus an aftermarket Kenwood stereo. There is some wear on the seat bolster, along with various scuffs and a sagging headliner, however.
In terms of power, that comes from the naturally-aspirated 4.2L V6, factory-rated to produce 205 horsepower and 255 pound-feet of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels via a 4-speed automatic transmission.
Along with this 1997 Ford F-150, we've spotted a few other interesting examples from this same generation as of late - a list that includes a rare 1998 NASCAR Edition F-150, and a 1997 XLT with just 37k miles.
