The Ford F-150 is a true icon in the automotive world, having existed for many decades and across more than a dozen generations thus far. As is usually the case with vehicles like that, older examples of the F-150 continue to prove quite collectible, typically, when they’re in nice condition and with fewer miles on the clock. We’ve seen our fair share of Ford F-150 pickups from the 2000s surface for sale at collector car auctions as of late, and that list now includes this nice 2006 model, too.
This 2006 Ford F-150 is scheduled to cross the block at Mecum's upcoming Dallas/Fort Worth auction, and it's a nicely kept example with a reasonable 65k miles on the clock, too. It isn't bone stock, but largely so, with what seems to be nice white exterior paint covering the entirety of the SuperCrew model, which has been fitted with a paint-matched camper shell that even has a sliding tool tray built into it - a useful addition, indeed.
That theme continues inside the cabin, where one will find a very clean gray interior with cloth seats, which appears to be largely flaw-free, judging by the photos provided. There are quite a few amenities present as well, including air conditioning, a tilt steering column, cruise control, power steering, and power brakes, along with seating for the whole family.
Power for this particular Ford F-150 comes from the naturally-aspirated Ford 5.4L V8, sending power to the rear or all four wheels via an automatic transmission. Currently, Mecum has an auction estimate of somewhere between $15,000-$20,000 for this pickup, which seems to be right in line with other, similar examples we've spotted for sale as of late.
That includes a 2007 Ford F-150 Lariat that just hit the auction block back in July with a mere 14k miles, as it wound up hammering for a bit more than that - $28,500 - to be expected, given its much lower mileage total.
