2008 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor With 42K Miles Up For Auction

Along with its civilian counterpart, the law enforcement focused Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor is truly gaining steam among collectors, which makes sense given the fact that full-size, rear-wheel drive, V8-powered sedans don’t really exist anymore. While Ford sold quite a lot of Crown Vics over the years, we don’t typically see a lot of nice, low-mile Police Interceptors, however, which were generally driven until the wheels fell off and then discarded. However, that isn’t the case with this 2008 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor.

Rather, this particular example – currently up for auction at Bring a Trailer – has just 42k miles on the clock, even though it was used by the Nassau Country Department of Consumer Affairs in Nassau, New York, from 2008 up until late 2024. It has been repainted in its original black exterior hue, but looks to be in quite nice shape otherwise. There’s no mistaking it for a regular Crown Vic either, thanks to the presence of a Go Rhino push bar, a left A-pillar mounted spotlight, front grille-mounted wig-wag lights, and 16-inch steel wheels.

Inside, one will find a very clean gray cloth interior, though the rear bench seat is trimmed in black vinyl. Police specialty items here include a Whelen microphone and siren, a Macom speaker, and a light control panel, along with amenities such as a power-adjustable driver’s seat, air conditioning, and a Pioneer head unit with navigation and Apple CarPlay connectivity – though the original unit is included with the sale.

Power for this extra clean Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor comes from the naturally-aspirated 4.6L V8, which in this guise was factory-rated to produce 224 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque and is mated to the four-speed automatic transmission.

Earlier this year, we also spotted a 2009 Crown Vic Police Interceptor that was used as a training tool for PIT maneuvers, but subsequently repaired. Otherwise, there are plenty of nice civilian versions of the popular sedan out there, many of which have few miles on the clock – even today, decades after they were originally sold new.
