2015-2017 Ford Mustang Recalled Over Corroded Seat Belt Cables

Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2015-2017 Ford Mustang models over corroded seat belt cables.

The defect: in affected vehicles, water and road salt may corrode the front seat belt anchor pretensioner cables.

The hazards: a corroded cable can break, preventing the seat belt from properly restraining an occupant, and increasing the risk of injury during a crash.

Components: seat belt cables

Affected vehicles: select 2015-2017 Ford Mustang models produced at the Flat Rock Assembly plant from February 11th, 2014, through October 2nd, 2017.

Number of vehicles affected: 94,584

The fix: dealers will inspect and replace both front seat belt anchor pretensioner assemblies, as necessary. In addition, dealers will remove sections of the carpet and underlayment that contact the cables. Repairs will be performed free of charge.

Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin in October. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated January 2026. The Ford reference number for this recall is 25S92.

    1. Simple, Ford has no quality control people, that is why Ford Motor Company recalls are permanent under Failure Farley.
