2021-2023 Ford Mustang Coupes Recalled To Fix Incorrect Repair

Ford Motor Company is recalling select units of the 2021 through 2023 model year Ford Mustang over an issue with the braking system. Affected vehicles did not receive the proper repairs under a prior recall No. 23C35.

The defect: in affected vehicles, if the brake fluid drops below the recommended level in the master cylinder brake fluid reservoir, customers will not receive a warning and may be unaware of the low brake fluid condition.

The hazards: if low brake fluid goes undetected, it could lead to loss of braking function, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford is not aware of any reports of accident or injury related to this condition.

Components: body control module software (BCM)

Affected vehicles: select 2021 through 2023 Ford Mustang models built at the Flat Rock Assembly plant

Number of affected vehicles: 3

The fix: dealers will update the BCM software, free of charge to vehicle owners.

Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin on November 17th, 2025. The Ford reference number for this recall is 25C55.
