Aside from vehicle-on-vehicle accidents that occur on a regular basis, we also tend to see our fair share of vehicles smashing into all kinds of other things - whether that be stores, homes, or other structures. Oftentimes, people just fall asleep behind the wheel, they're intoxicated, or simply not paying attention - or, in some cases, maybe they just hit the accelerator instead of the brake. As for this Ford F-150 Lightning driver, it's unclear what caused them to smash into a building, but it sure seems like they misjudged things a tad.
In this short clip recently posted on Instagram, we get a good view of this particular accident, which occurred in New York City recently. The Ford F-150 Lightning - which is wearing New Jersey plates - is backing up in an apparent attempt to parallel park in an open spot. Things start off just fine, as the truck is moving into position at a slower speed - but then, all of a sudden, the electric pickup speeds up significantly.
From there, the Ford F-150 Lightning smashes into a car that's already parked on the street, sending that vehicle careening into the one behind it with quite a lot of force. The pickup keeps going, hitting the building behind it, and causing quite a lot of damage to that brick surface as well. It's entirely unclear how the F-150 Lightning driver managed to do this, but it sure seems like they either used the wrong pedal or just gave the accelerator a bit too much juice.

In any event, this is the second time in recent days that we've seen a Ford vehicle hit a building. Earlier this week, a Focus driver misjudged a turn at a fast food drive-thru and wound up hitting the yellow protective concrete pole designed to prevent such things from happening - but then carried on as if they hadn't.
