Fully Restored, Modified 1960 Ford Ranchero Heading To Auction

The Ford Ranchero was produced from 1957 through 1979, existing in many forms over that time span. The Ranchero enjoyed its fair share of success as well, as FoMoCo sold over a half-million examples during its time on this planet. The part-car, part-truck was based on a variety of vehicles over those years, including the full-size Ford passenger car of the late ’50s, the Ford Falcon, Ford Fairlane, Ford Torino, and LTD II. Some of them have become quite collectible, and that should bode well for this 1960 Ford Ranchero that’s set to be auctioned off soon.

This 1960 Ford Ranchero is scheduled to cross the block at Barrett-Jackson’s Fall Scottsdale auction later this month, but it’s far from stock in every conceivable way. It’s been treated to a full-blown frame-off redo, in fact, which includes bodywork and a fresh yellow paint job, plus the addition of things like LED headlights, flush-mounted door handles, new chrome, fresh glass, new seals, and a Raptor-lined bed on the outside.

Rolling on a set of 15-inch five-spoke American Racing wheels wrapped with new radial tires, this restomodded Ford Ranchero also features a totally custom interior, too. Inside the cabin, one will find two-tone yellow and black leather bucket seats, plus Vintage Air climate control, Dakota Digital gauges, a tilt column with a wood-rimmed steering wheel, billet door handles and window cranks, plus a center console.

In terms of what lies under the hood, that’s a freshly built 302 cubic-inch Ford V8 equipped with a FiTech electronic fuel injection system, a serpentine accessory drive, an aluminum radiator with an electric fan, headers, and a dual-exhaust system. It sends power to the rear wheels via a three-speed automatic transmission and a 9-inch rear end.

On top of all that, the builder added a Mustang II front end with a sway bar, rack and pinion steering, and tubular control arms to help out in the handling department, while stopping duties are taken care of by four-wheel power disc brakes. Overall, it’s a rather nice package, and it’ll be interesting to see what this vintage Ford Ranchero rakes in at auction.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
