Hockey Legend Carey Price Has Always Been A Ford Guy

Along with us regular folks, there are plenty of famous people from all walks of life that grew up with an affinity with Ford – carrying that Blue Oval passion into adulthood, too. We’ve seen this with a wide array of celebrities and athletes over the years, including – most recently – Detroit Lions wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa, who is currently tooling around in a brand new Ford F-150 Lightning. A little bit further north, that’s also true of hockey legend Carey Price.

Price is known to most hockey fans as an NHL and Team Canada superstar, but long before that came to fruition, he grew up in a household full of Ford trucks. His dad used to transport him to practice and games in his Ford Ranger, in fact, and he spent many a weekend ice fishing, camping, and performing other typical Canadian activities before growing up and purchasing his own Blue Oval pickup.

Price’s first truck was a 2008 Ford F-150 Harley-Davidson Edition, in fact, but he has owned a total of 15 different Ford trucks thus far. Today, he’s tooling around in a Ford Super Duty Tremor, using it to tow trailers and take his own family camping, doing a little off-roading, or heading out into the wilderness with his father for hunting and fishing trips, just like the old days. Now, Price is teaming up with The Blue Oval as part of a new series of ads in which he drives a Ford F-150 Tremor around, too.

“I like doing things that get me out into nature. Fishing, camping, hunting… stuff that takes you down a dirt path,” Price said. “I know I can count on my Ford F-Series truck to not only take on those conditions, but also haul all the gear I need. I grew up in a pretty remote town and had a seven-hour round trip with my dad in his Ford Ranger to get to hockey practice. We put that truck through a lot, and that definitely influenced my choice to get a Ford F-150 when I bought my first pickup. When I first got to Montreal, a lot of the other players had really fancy sports cars. That just didn’t feel like me. For years, I had this black, special edition Ford F-150 with 22-inch chrome wheels and a V8 engine. I loved that truck.”

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

  1. I´m not famous but I always had a Ford car in the family during 35 years. Until Ford decided to stop selling sedans. From that day on, I have bought everything but Ford. I still keep a german 1995 Ford Scorpio Cosworth, but if Ford doesn´t produce a sedan again, that will probably be my last Ford.
