Watch A Late Model Ford Expedition Get Lifted Out Of Ottawa Lake: Video

It can be mind-boggling to see the sorts of things that authorities pull out of various bodies of water on a regular basis, and oftentimes, it leaves us wondering how the heck those things got there in the first place. Recently, we’ve seen quite a few vehicles retrieved from retention ponds, lakes, rivers, and other bodies of water, as diving crews are working in certain areas to solve missing persons cases – with quite a lot of success, too. As a result, we’re also seeing various Blue Oval vehicles rescued after sitting in water for decades in many cases, but that isn’t quite the case with this newer Ford Expedition.

Rather, according to CTV News, this Ford Expedition – which looks to be a 2022-2024 model year Stealth model – had only been submerged in Dow Lake in Ottawa, Canada, for a few days after the driver exited the roadway and took a bit of an impromptu plunge. Luckily, the driver was able to get out of the SUV before it was submerged, and emergency personnel arrived on the scene shortly thereafter.

Regardless, the driver was transported to the hospital for precautionary reasons, though it seems as if they escaped without any sort of injury. As for what caused the crash to occur, well, that much is unclear at this time, according to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). “This remains an active investigation, hence, no further details can be shared at this time,” RCMP said in a statement.

What we can see is this Ford Expedition being rescued from the lake, a job that required a crane to pull off. The large crane lifted the SUV out of the water and subsequently placed it on a flat bed truck, but now, it’s unclear what will become of the poor vehicle. Though it looks no worse for wear, water has a way of wreaking havoc on a vehicle’s electronics, likely leaving this one destined for the scrap yard.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
