The Ford Motor Company Valencia Body and Assembly plant is located in Almussafes, on the southern part of the city of Valencia, in Spain. The facility currently overseas production of vehicles destined for the European market like the Ford Kuga, Ford Transit Connect and Ford Mondeo.
Ford Valencia first started production of the Ford Fiesta in 1976, and quickly grew to become Ford’s largest manufacturing complex outside the United States, with a production capacity of 450,000 vehicles a year. The plant was built under the leadership of Hanns Brand, who had previously been responsible for building the Ford Saarlouis plant, which served as a blueprint for the Valencia project
