So.. here’s what’s happen over the last 4 years of owning a 2020 Connect.. we’ve had to deal with issue of not being able to locate performance parts for the van. Things like Cobra springs failed and the 8 different end links failed also. However bright spots came when we discovered that a 28mm Hardrace sway bar (designed for a Ford KUGA) can and does fit the van. Our next accomplishment came when we had CSS out of KS/USA create a set of 20% stiffer 2” shorter lowering springs for the van. But after 6 months, we ran into an issue where the OE shocks had to much up travel thus allowing these rear springs to fall out. When the drivers side spring fell out, the van’s fender edge made contact with the rear tire. cutting out a nice grove. For one month, we weren’t able to drive the van and had to rely on friends/family to transport us to work. during that time, I was able to locate a chart listing several well known shock manufactures. I was searching for a shock that has a limited up travel of approx 16.70 to 16.80 inches. The OE shocks have an up travel of 18″ which allowed the 2” shorter customs springs to fall out. We located the Monroe 66608 shocks which have a limited up travel of 16.88 inches. However, we had to custom mill a set of shock sleeves and spacers in order to make these class 3-6 shocks work on the van. They did and for 20 days we’ve not had any issues with this setup. Though the ride is a bit harsh.. the entire suspension as a whole is worth it. Any connect owners want a stiff but lower suspension springs for this van, contact CSS and ask for the “Flord Performance” springs for your 2019-2023 Transit Connect. But as a warning, you will need to install the Monroe 66608′ shocks with modificcied sleeves and thick washer spares to make these shocks work on your van.
