Aural bliss: it’s no longer solely the possession of the owners of muscle and sports cars.
Indeed, the fact that the V8-equipped Ford F-150 uses essentially the same 5.0-liter Coyote engine as found in the Mustang means that firms have very little re-engineering to do when designing a new system for the full-size pickup. That’s good news for noise-loving Ford F-150 owners everywhere, as it allows for impressive sounds like those heard in the video above, which shows one or two dynamometer pulls in a 2015 Ford F-150 with Kooks headers and a full Kooks exhaust system.
Now, to be fair, there’s quite a lot of supercharger whine here, playing first fiddle to the Kooks exhaust setup; this Ford F-150 is equipped with a 2.9-liter Whipple supercharger. But if you can listen past that, the reward is tremendous; this Kooks system sounds much more crisp and raw than the stock Ford F-150 exhaust setup, giving the full-size pickup a growl to rival that of any pony car, Ford-badged or otherwise.
Hear the difference for yourself in the video above.
It shows a lot of promise thus far.
He apparently tuned his pickup and now needs pricey repairs.
A nifty way to conceal additional lighting sources when they aren't needed.
The resulting mine will churn out massive amounts of the material when it's finished.
Not much has changed on that front.
A nice little touch under the hood.
