The Ford Transit lineup is set to be updated for the 2017 model year, with ergonomic and tech features inspired in-part by fleet customer feedback.
Updates to the Ford Transit range include:
In addition, the smaller Ford Transit Connect is receiving some changes come 2017, including standard SYNC 3 infotainment with a 6.5-inch touchscreen on the Ford Transit Connect Wagon Titanium. The system will be optional on the XLT trim level Transit Connect and Wagon. 1 – I would like to know what are the engine options for 2017 on the transit connect?
▸ Currently the 2017 Transit Connect is Available with either the 2.5-liter Duratec 4-cylinder engine or 1.6-liter EcoBoost 4-cylinder engine
2 – Is 7 passenger seating available on the Transit Connect Titanium?.
▸ Correct, The Transit Connect Titanium does offer a third row passenger seating for up to 7 persons.
3 – Which is the smoother ride…16 or 17 inch tires.
▸ In our experience, the 16'' wheels and 215/55/16 tires offers a better ride and handling. Where as the 17'' and 215/50/17 tires are a more rim/wheel is a lesser tire setup, but still is a good selection based on other Transit Connect owners opting for 18'' 19'' or even 20'' wheels.

It is quite obvious that Ford does NOT read its own forums (please refer to the Transit Connect Climate Control forum about the lack of rear seat heat). I started that forum in 2014. The problem has yet to be remedied. There are four pages of entries from Transit Connect drivers that address the same issue. We have contacted multiple dealers. We have been given "case numbers", etc. but the PROBLEM HAS NEVER BEEN ADDRESSED. Ford customer service fails miserably in this department. But they are not the problem. The design for supplying heat to the rear seat passengers is a design problem. I have yet to see anything that would indicate Ford has addressed the problem. However, they are making big deal about the addition of a lock on the glovebox. WOW! I would like to trade my 2014 for a 2018 but only if the rear heater system operates as it should. This is not rocket science (I worked for NASA). Please, Ford; solve the problem for me and the others. Let us know you listen and care about your customers.
