When the 2017 Ford F-250 Super Duty goes on sale later this year, potential buyers will have to decide whether the new, aluminum-bodied workhorse is worth the extra price premium.
As Car and Driver reports, across the board, the Ford F-250 Super Duty will experience a bump in MSRP, from the base XL Regular Cab ($150 extra) to the range-topping Platinum SuperCrew ($5,070 more). The latter will base at $63,305, although features that cost extra on lesser trim levels - four-wheel drive, LED headlights and taillights, heated steering, massaging front seats, etc. - will come as standard. Also standard is a short, 6.75-foot bed; stepping up to the 8-footer will cost an extra $200.
For the rest of the F-250 range, rear-wheel drive will come standard, with four-wheel drive demanding an extra $2,795 to $2,805 on XL and XLT models, and $3,185 to $3,195 on Lariat and King Ranch trucks. The long, 8-foot bed is standard on all Regular Cab models, and a $195 to $205 option on SuperCab and SuperCrew trucks.
