Apparently, a lot of Canadian car shoppers at least consider trading-in their Ford F-150 pickups when they go hunting for a new GMC; the Ford F-150 was the third-most-appraised off-make vehicle at Canadian GMC dealers through November of this year, according to data from dealer software tool “Dealertrack Tradetracker.”
Here, “off-make” means anything that doesn’t wear a GMC badge, including models from other General Motors brands like Chevrolet.
That’s important because the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 was the most-appraised trade-in, according to the data, with the Chevrolet Cruze coming in second. Of course, there are lots of F-150s floating around; website Auto Remarketing says that the Ford F-150 has been the most-appraised vehicle in Canada overall this year, and it’s been the top-selling vehicle in the country for each of the last years.
Say its name ten times fast without tripping over your own tongue and you’ll be visited by a gigantic moose who will grant you the new vehicle of your dreams.
Dealertrack Tradetracker is used by dealerships to help in appraising used vehicle trade-ins, so that the dealer knows how much to offer the customer based on data regarding its fair market value. While a popular piece of software, it’s not the only such tool, and not even all Canadian GMC dealers utilize it. One should therefore be mindful that the data cited in this story comes from a somewhat limited pool.

Making it easy to communicate with people outside of the vehicle.
The technology is expected to arrive in the next two years or so.
Something we'll probably see more of soon.
