It wasn’t all that long ago when old trucks could be purchased for meager money. But now that we’re smack dab in the middle of a vintage pickup renaissance, that task is getting harder and harder. On the flip side, we’re also seeing more pristinely restored classic Ford trucks popping up for sale, including this absolutely immaculate 1978 Ford F-150 over at Vanguard Motor Sales.
Whoever went through this 1978 Ford F-150 and completely redid it obviously did an amazing job, because the truck looks like a polished piece of jewelry now. That starts on the outside, where a darker red hue looks miles-deep and is accented perfectly by a boatload of new chrome. And while there’s nothing wrong with a stock stance, we are digging the four-inch lift, 15-inch polished aluminum wheels, and BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires on this rig.
There are a couple of modern touches on the exterior as well, including LED headlights and power-retractable running boards. Dual exhaust tips poke out of the rear and lead to a Ford 400 cubic-inch V8 that lies under the hood with a Holley intake manifold and carb on top. Power flows through a four-speed manual transmission to a Ford 9-inch rear end and Dana 44 front differential.
Meanwhile, the black interior features a host of niceties as well, including a pair of bucket seats, a center console with cup holders, a Vintage Air A/C unit, power steering, a Billet Specialties steering wheel, Dakota Digital gauges, and a Kenwood and JL audio sound system capable of belting out some serious tunes.
Put it all together, and we’ve got one sweet classic 1978 Ford F-150 that pretty much anyone would love to own. Whether or not it’s worth the hefty $70k asking price, well, that’s for buyers to decide, but we haven’t been shocked by sky-high classic truck prices in some time.
We’ll have more cool classics for sale to share soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for the latest Ford F-Series news, Ford F-150 news, and ongoing Ford news coverage.

A 78 f150 with square headlights is throwing me off.
The 1978 Ford Pick Up has two different style headlights. The customs used round lights and the upper trim had square lights.
Not worth it 70k that price is wrong 100 percent
