Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2019-2020 Ford Mustang models over an issue with the powertrain control module (PCM).
The defect: in affected vehicles, the powertrain control module may broadcast an unintended faulted signal to the modules controlling the reverse camera, reverse light, and driver assist features, which may disable all of these functions.
The hazards: a rearview camera or reverse light that is disabled reduces the driver’s rear view, increasing the risk of a crash. Disabled driver assist features (traction control, forward collision warning, blind spot warning, cross traffic indicator) may also increase the risk of a crash.
Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue.
Components: powertrain control module.
Affected vehicles: select 2019-2020 Ford Mustang models produced at the Flat Rock Assembly plant between January 18th, 2018 and December 16th, 2020.
Number of vehicles affected: 25,032
The fix: dealers will update the PCM software, free of charge.
Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin on June 13th, 2022. The Ford reference number for this recall is 22S37.

Agree...if you do a job you do it properly. I know its a production line and things get missed (which they shouldnt). Do it right or not at all.
