Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2023-2024 Ford Super Duty pickups due to an issue with the rearview camera.
The defect: in affected vehicles, water may enter the Tailgate Park Assist Sensor Interface Module (TPASIM) and cause the rearview camera image to display intermittently or appear blue or black.
The hazards: a rearview camera image that does not display can decrease the driver’s visibility, increasing the risk of injury or crash.
Ford is not aware of any reports of accident or injury related to this issue.
Components: rearview camera
Affected vehicles: select 2023-2024 Ford Super Duty F-250, F-350, and F-450 models produced between October 4th, 2022, and March 14th, 2024.
Number of vehicles affected: 24,950
The fix: dealers will replace the tailgate top camera, wire harness, TPASIM module, and update the Image Processing Module A (IPMA) software, free of charge.
Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin on December 9th, 2024. The Ford reference number for this recall is 24S66.
