Extremely Solid 1995 Ford Taurus SHO Up For Auction

Over the past couple of years, we’ve seen our fair share of nice, low-mile Ford Taurus models hit the auction block as collector interest in the once best-selling sedan seems to be growing. Of course, enthusiasts are more into the performance-focused Ford Taurus SHO, which has a lot more to offer in the fun department, not to mention the fact that it was produced in smaller quantities and has some truly unique features. Thus, this very nice 1995 Ford Taurus SHO figures to conjure up its fair share of interest at auction, too.

This particular Ford Taurus SHO is up for auction at Bring a Trailer with some miles on the clock – 109k, to be exact – though it remained in Texas until December 2024. Despite its higher mileage total (at least compared to many we see at auction), this SHO doesn’t have any noted flaws marring its Deep Emerald Green Clearcoat Metallic paint, which is undoubtedly interesting. The same goes for its 16-inch cast aluminum wheels, too.

Inside the cabin, one will find power-adjustable front Mocha leather seats and features such as automatic climate control, cruise control, the Ford-JBL audio system, power windows, and power door locks. The seller notes that the gearshift knob rotates, and there’s some typical creasing in the seats, along with wear on the steering wheel and other touch points. Power comes from the Yamaha-sourced 3.0L V6 that originally produced 220 horsepower and 200 pound-feet of torque when new, flowing to the front wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox.

We don’t see a ton of Ford Taurus SHO models surface for sale these days, but there have been a couple that have popped up recently. That list includes a nice, original 1995 example with just 50k miles on the clock, as well as a truly bizarre 1994 SHO that someone previously converted into a pickup.

  • I hate to rain on a nice review of a great car, but this is a SECOND generation SHO. The first generation was sold from 1989-1991 when Ford moved roughly 15,000 units, not meeting it's sales goals. Otherwise nice car great review.

  • Later in life I purchased a boat with a Yamaha 250hp V6 3.0 liter engine. It was essentially the same engine as in the SHO. The dipstick even had FoMoCo on it!

  • Hey hey. I picked up A 1999 Taurus Station wagon. 24V 3.0 with 85,000 Original miles. Car is solid. Little hail damage but the car is amazing. lots of life. power house great for camping.
