Shelby has churned out its fair share of special Ford Mustang models over the years, and we aren’t just talking about the ones that are built by The Blue Oval and slapped with a Shelby badge, either. Rather, Shelby American has also offered quite a few unique Ford Mustang variants with their own distinct styling, coupled with performance upgrades and various other modifications that set them apart from regular, run of the mill pony cars. We routinely see used examples of these models surface for sale, and that includes this 2022 Ford Mustang Shelby Super Snake.
This 2022 Ford Mustang Shelby Super Snake is set to be auctioned off at Mecum’s Florida Summer Special 2025 sale next month, and it’s a nearly new example with just 500 miles on the clock. The seller clearly purchased it to drive sparingly, as they kept it in climate controlled storage since new, and haven’t accumulated many miles over the past few years. Thus, the car remains in great shape, sporting special Shelby bodywork in terms of its front fascia, rocker panels, dual-intake ram air hood, louvered rear quarter windows, rear spoiler, carbon fiber mirror caps, and 20-inch forged aluminum wheels.
Inside, one will find a CSM serial number dash plaque amid a two-tone leather interior, and a short throw shifter. Power comes from the 5.0L V8 Coyote engine, which has been fortified with a Whipple supercharger, bigger injectors, a billet throttle body, an oversized air intake, and an aluminum heat exchanger, helping to lift output up to 825 horsepower. It’s mated to a six-speed manual transmission and supported by mods including a one-piece driveshaft, Brembo brakes, and Shelby performance half-shafts, plus the company’s track/handling suspension setup.
We certainly see our fair share of Shelby American fortified Ford Mustang models at auctions on a regular basis, a list that includes an incredibly rare 2022 GT-H that has popped up for sale a couple of times lately.
