The Lincoln Town Car is one of several full-size, V8-powered American sedans that was discontinued a while back, along with its Panther platform counterparts, the Ford Crown Victoria and Mercury Grand Marquis. While new car shoppers continue to gravitate toward crossovers and SUVs, we’re also seeing collector interest in these particular models grow steadily, likely as a result of the fact that they just don’t exist anymore. That’s most likely to be the case with this very nice 2002 Lincoln Town Car Cartier, too.
This 2002 Lincoln Town Car Cartier is up for auction at Bring a Trailer with a pretty low 34k miles on the clock, and it has spent its entire life with two owners in the state of Oklahoma only thus far. That certainly shows on the outside, where the White Pearlescent Clearcoat Metallic looks no worse for wear with zero noted flaws, which is also true of its brightwork, Cartier C-pillar badges, and chrome 16-inch wheels.
Inside the cabin, one will find tidy Light Parchment leather covered seats with typical creasing in the bolsters, along with plenty of woodgrain trim, plus amenities including an Alpine audio system, a rear window defroster, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, an AM/FM stereo, and power windows and locks.
Under the hood lies the naturally-aspirated Ford 4.6L V8, which was factory-rated to produce 235 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque and is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission.
This is just one of many nice, lower-mile Lincoln Town Car models we’ve spotted at auction recently in what is becoming a bit of a trend. That list also includes a 2006 model with 53k miles, a 2008 with a mere 2k miles showing on the odometer, and a 2005 Town Car Signature with a mere 26k miles on the clock that just surfaced for sale at auction this week, too.
A list that contains a couple of discontinued or soon to be Ford models.
Jeep is opting to keep its V8-powered SUV, after all.
Sales increased 18 percent to 28,230 units during the first seven months of 2025.
Looked pretty damn authentic upon first glance.
