2004 Mercury Marauder With 6K Miles Up For Auction

The Mercury Marauder debuted to much fanfare, and for good reason – it’s a full-size sedan with extra performance and style baked in, which is always certain to be a hit with enthusiasts who appreciate having room for the whole family. The Marauder was only built in limited quantities over a couple of model years as well, a formula that has since made it quite collectible. We certainly see our fair share of nice Mercury Marauder sedans hit the auction block these days, and this 2004 model is the latest of that bunch.

This 2004 Mercury Marauder has just 6k miles on the clock and is currently up for auction at Bring a Trailer, looking as nice as one would expect given that information. It has lived most of its life in storage, with the original owner, at least, until the seller acquired it earlier this year. One of just 11k built over two model years, it remains in stellar condition as a result, with flawless black paint and polished 18-inch five-spoke forged wheels wrapped with fairly new BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDWS tires.

That’s also the case inside, with a very tidy looking interior that touts Dark Charcoal leather covered and heated power-adjustable front bucket seats, the Audiophile sound system, a trunk-mounted six-disc CD changer, an AM/FM/CD/cassette stereo, cruise control, power-adjustable pedals, and automatic climate control.

Power comes from Ford’s naturally-aspirated, 32-valve, dual-overhead cam 4.6L V8, which in this guise was rated to produce 302 horsepower and 318 pound-feet of torque. It’s mated to a four-speed automatic transmission and a 3.55:1 limited-slip differential, coupled with speed-sensitive variable assist power steering, Tokico monotube shocks, and a self-leveling rear air suspension.

As regular readers likely already know, this is just one of many Mercury Marauder sedans we’ve spotted at auction as of late. That list also includes a 2003 model with 47k miles, as well as a 2004 with 15k miles – and a supercharger underhood.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

  1. Congrats, you have a museum quality duck! No museums want ducks, but if they did, you’d have a heck of a contender
