2025 Ford Expedition, Lincoln Navigator Recalled Over Faulty Air Bags

Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2025 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator SUVs over faulty passenger side air bags.

The defect: in affected vehicles, the passenger side air bag may have been manufactured incorrectly, which can cause the air bag to deploy with excessive force during a crash.

The hazards: an air bag that deploys with excessive force can increase the risk of injury during a crash.

Ford is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to this condition.

Components: passenger side air bag

Affected vehicles: select 2025 Ford Expedition models built between March 27th, 2025, and May 28th, 2025, as well as 2025 Navigator models produced from March 22nd, 2025, and May 30th, 2025.

Number of vehicles affected: 171

The fix: dealers will replace the passenger side air bags, free of charge.

Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin on August 11th, 2025. The Ford reference number for this recall is 25S51.
