The Blue Oval has a history of gifting new vehicles to heroes, as we’ve seen a few times in the past already. Back in February 2024, that was the case when the automaker gave a brand new Ford F-150 Raptor R to a Marine veteran whose previous Raptor – which he had just purchased four months prior – was destroyed by a distracted driver. Now, that’s happening yet again, this time, for a man who stopped a shooting from happening at a Michigan church.
According to the Associated Press, Jack Demmer Ford also in Wayne, Michigan gifted a brand new 2025 Ford F-150 to Richard Pryor, a deacon at the CrossPointe Community Church in that same town. Pryor used his old truck – a 2018 Ford F-150 – to ram a man that entered the church recently and attempted to shoot a number of people.
Pryor was on the phone with 911 when the incident occurred, leaving him with few choices as a potentially major tragedy was about to unfold with around 100 people inside at the time.
“I’m just realizing there’s no time,” Pryor said. “I didn’t have a weapon on me, in the truck or anything, so what are your options?” Pryor’s actions prevented a tragedy from occurring, as after he rammed the gunman, the man was fatally shot by church security, ending the threat before something worse could happen. In the process, however, Pryor’s old truck was caught in the crossfire and wound up with several bullet holes in it, leaving him in a bit of a predicament himself.
Now, that’s no longer an issue, thanks to a kind act from the local Ford dealership, which gifted the $70,000 2025 Ford F-150 to Pryor on a two-year lease, though Pryor admits that he didn’t expect to be rewarded for his heroic act. “It’s been more than expected,” Pryor said just before being handed the key fob to his new Ford F-150. “Very grateful. Very thankful.”
A pretty cool tailgating rig, we'd say.
It's unclear what those export markets will consist of.
It didn't top every category, but was the best all-around.
The term could also be used on merchandise.
The exec has done this for the past couple of years.
Resulting in a huge repair bill.

"thanks to a kind act from the local Ford dealership"
Is that Demmer Ford in MI? If so they deserve the positive press.
Yes, it's in the article
Just a LEASE?!?
Really?
Jimbo is definitely cheaping out.
But many many thanks to The Deacon who risked being taken out himself.
Aren't gifts usually something that you don't take back after a certain period of time, CHEAPOS the only reason that they did it was for the press not out of the "kindness of their heart" for a guy who was proven to have countless lives at the risk of life and loss of property, that's what you call selfless and all of these corporations should take notice when someone is willing to do so! I guess it's better than a free five thousand mile maintenance or a ten dollar coupon!
