Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2025 Lincoln Aviator models over an issue with the rear window.
The defect: in affected vehicles, when closing the windows with the global closing feature, the side rear windows may exert excessive force when encountering an object, before they automatically reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 118, "Power-Operated Window Systems."
The hazards: a closing window that does not reverse direction as expected can pinch a passenger before retracting, increasing the risk of injury.
Components: side rear windows
Affected vehicles: select 2025 Lincoln Aviator models built at the Chicago Assembly Plant between November 29th, 2023, and June 6th, 2025.
Number of vehicles affected: 23,111
The fix: dealers will update the driver door module (DDM) and the passenger door module (PDM) software, free of charge.
Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin on September 15th, 2025. The Ford reference number for this recall is 25C33.

Seriously. What was the point?
It has made several appearances at that annual event.
Including the Jet Appearance and Towing packages.
Did better than the Chevy.
Really too bad this never made it to production.
