2026 Lincoln Aviator Retains Panoramic Roof, Unlike Explorer

Both the Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator were treated to a mid-cycle refresh for the 2025 model year, ushering in a host of updates for the long-running models. Despite this, as is usually the case, The Blue Oval continues to tweak both models as the upcoming model year transition is set to take place. However, there is one particular update for the new year that the 2026 Lincoln Aviator won’t be sharing with its more mainstream counterpart.

As Ford Authority recently reported, the 2026 Ford Explorer is ditching its Panoramic Vista Roof in favor of the optional Panoramic Fixed Glass Roof. However, according to sources familiar with the matter, that won’t be the case with the 2026 Lincoln Aviator, as it’s retaining the Panoramic Vista Roof for the new model year. The panoramic roof is standard equipment on the Premiere II (102A) and up. As a reminder, the Panoramic Vista Roof can be opened partially, but the new fixed glass roof does not open.

Otherwise, the 2026 Lincoln Aviator will arrive with a few minor updates for the new model year, starting with the fact that the luxurious crossover is losing its standard spare tire. The 18-inch mini spare wheel and tire is being replaced by a tire inflator and sealant kit, at least, for Premiere, Livery (fleet-only), and Reserve models. However, those that still covet the 18-inch spare can get it as an optional upgrade on the 2026 Lincoln Aviator Premiere 100A, 101A, and 102A, along with the Livery 500A and Reserve 200A equipment groups, and it’s still standard on the Aviator Reserve 201A and Black Label 800A.

On top of that change, the 2026 Lincoln Aviator is also gaining the new Lincoln Connectivity Package, which replaces the Lincoln Premium Connectivity Package. Equipment group 102A is joining the lineup for the first time, and the Dynamic Handling Package is being treated to minor changes in availability. Finally, several new dealer-installed options are on the order books, too.
