As Ford Authority reported last September, Ford Pro CEO Ted Cannis announced that he was retiring after a lengthy career that began with The Blue Oval back in 1989, when he started out in finance before serving in various leadership positions in Venezuela, Argentina, Turkey, and Russia. Cannis went on to hold a variety of roles at the company before becoming the first Ford Pro CEO after the business-focused entity was created in 2021. Ford Blue president Andrew Frick took over that role on an interim basis, but now, a new Ford Pro president has officially been named.

That person is Alicia Boler Davis, who comes into the role with over 30 years of experience in automotive, technology, and customer experience. Now, Davis will take over for Frick at the beginning of October, after spending 25 years at Ford’s cross-town rival, General Motors, among other companies. She started as a manufacturing engineer there and served in various leadership roles in manufacturing, quality, and connected customer experience, including executive vice president of global manufacturing and labor relations.

“Alicia’s unique skillset and experiences make her the ideal leader to guide Ford Pro into the next era – accelerating our move into software and services and growing Ford Pro’s already strong profitability,” said Jim Farley, Ford president and CEO. “She combines deep automotive and technology knowledge with an entrepreneurial and customer-obsessed mindset. Importantly, she builds high-performance teams and fosters a culture of innovation, speed and smart risk-taking.”

“I’m thrilled to return to a city and an industry that has meant so much to me, and join an iconic company like Ford,” Davis said. “In many ways, my experiences and all I have learned in 30-plus years at GM, Amazon and Alto, have led to this opportunity to help Ford Pro reach its potential as an agile, technology-driven growth business that provides a competitive advantage for customers. If I had to create a role in the auto industry that would best utilize my experiences in both automotive and technology, it would be leading Ford Pro at this pivotal time.”

  • Given all the money Ford Pro makes, I think she just landed the most important job in the company.
