The Ford Ranger is a true global product, one that’s sold in over 180 markets at the moment. As such, it’s no surprise to see the mid-size pickup rank near or atop sales charts in many of those markets on a regular basis, as we have many times over the years. In terms of total global sales, that’s also true, as the Ford Ranger managed to land in the top 10 of all vehicles in 2024, as well as the top four in terms of pickups, specifically.
According to new data from Felipe Munoz of JATO Dynamics, the Ford Ranger was the fourth best-selling pickup across the globe last year, and the tenth best-selling model overall, moving 386,900 units in total. Its chief rival – the Toyota Hilux – topped the charts with 616,200 sales, beating out the Ford F-150, which recorded 594,100 sales last year. The F-150’s chief rival, the Chevy Silverado, came in third with 418,300 global sales, while The Blue Oval also managed to make the top 10 with the F-250 Super Duty holding down the tenth spot.

Of that rather massive total for the Ford Ranger, 46,205 sales came from the U.S., specifically, or around 12 percent, which further highlights just how important the rest of the world is for the mid-size pickup. Following the Ranger’s full-blown redesign for the 2024 model year, it managed to post a 42.9 percent year-over-year increase in U.S. sales compared to 2023 as well, when it racked up 32,334 sales.

Ford sells lots of pickups. For 2024 = 594,100. Chevy and the almost identical GMC trucks for 2024 = 685,800. Ford always advertises they sell more trucks than Chevy. General Motors is always happy to sell more than Ford.
Ranger sold 62 593 units in Australia to be the best selling vehicle in the market
