As new vehicle prices have increased substantially since the onset of the pandemic amid production issues and sustained high demand, so have used vehicle prices. Many consumers turned to the used market in a time when they simply couldn’t find new vehicles on dealer lots at all, which subsequently sent the values of those models skyrocketing, too. Not every used vehicle has experienced the same sort of rise – understandable given the fact that some are more popular than others – but the Ford F-150 certainly applies to this rule.
In fact, according to new data from iSeeCars, three-year old pre-owned Ford F-150 pickups have experienced one of the steepest rises in terms of average pricing since 2019. Back then, the average three-year old used Ford F-150 was selling for $31,489, but today, that figure has risen dramatically – $42,663, which is a 35.5 percent increase. That figure is also the eighth highest of any used vehicle, too.
The average price of three-year old used vehicles has increased 40.9 percent since the pandemic, from $23,159 in 2019 to $32,635 in 2025, and affordable models priced under $20k have all but disappeared – in 2019, they accounted for 49.3 percent of the three-year old used vehicle market, but today, that number has shrunk to 11.5 percent. To come up with this data, iSeeCars analyzed 2.6 million vehicles sold between January and June of 2019 and 2025, after which list prices were tallied and aggregated to compare the share of cars at various price points across the two periods.
In recent months, some new Ford F-150 shoppers have defected to cheaper rivals amid these sustained high prices, an admission that came from CEO Jim Farley himself. As for used examples, the F-150 remains one of the top-selling used vehicles on the market – a list that it’s been a stalwart on for some time now – which has helped keep prices elevated as well.
