2002 Ford Taurus SE Sedan With 44K Miles Up For Auction

Long gone (from the U.S., at least) and certainly not forgotten, the Ford Taurus isn’t quite as common a sight on the roadways as it used to be. However, we do see our fair share of nice, lower-mile examples of the sedan pop up for sale on collector car auction sites these days, and that group isn’t just limited to early first-generation models or the high-performance SHO. Rather, we’ve also seen our fair share of later-generation Ford Taurus models surface for sale as of late, and that now includes this very nice 2002 SE.

This 2002 Ford Taurus SE is up for auction at Bring a Trailer with just 44k miles on the clock, and its Silver Frost Metallic paint looks to be in great shape, though the seller notes that the passenger side was resprayed to fix some scratches. The factory 16-inch aluminum wheels are also in nice condition, albeit mounted with older, mixed 215/60 tires. Braking duties are handled by front discs with antilock capability up front, paired with old fashioned drums out back.

Inside the cabin, one will find Medium Graphite cloth upholstery that’s in decent shape, along with amenities such as power windows, locks, and mirrors, air conditioning, a CD stereo, and cruise control. The power mirror knob is missing, and the blower motor resistor and brake pedal pad were recently replaced, but otherwise, everything is in tidy original condition.

In terms of power, that comes from the naturally-aspirated 3.0L Vulcan V6 that was factory-rated to produce 155 horsepower and 185 pound-feet of torque and is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission.

This 2002 Ford Taurus SE is one of several from the same generation that we’ve spotted at various collector car auctions as of late – a list that also includes a 2005 SE with less than 200 miles on the clock, as well as a 2004 SE with 84k miles that sold for pennies on the dollar.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
