Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2022 Ford F-150 models over a parking lamp flickering issue that were repaired incorrectly under recalls 22V686 and 23V802.
The defect: in affected vehicles, the parking lights may flicker when the headlights are activated. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.”
The hazards: flickering parking lights can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Ford is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to this condition.
Components: light emitting diode control module
Affected vehicles: select 2022 Ford F-150 models produced between March 11th, 2022, and July 22nd, 2022.
Number of vehicles affected: 2,361
The fix: dealers will replace the light emitting diode control module and update the software, free of charge.
Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin September 15th, 2025. The Ford reference number for this recall is 25C38.

It’s one thing to have a recall, but to have the “fix” recalled underscores that the entire organization is likely pretty dysfunctional.
Like 100 ants floating down the river on a log with each ant thinking the other ant is steering the log.
